can we use lemon instead of vinegar - #24981
I am kinda confused about using lemon in my salad dressings instead of vinegar. Like, I've had this horrible acid reflux problem for years now, and my doc suggested avoiding vinegar as much as possible. I love making my own salad dressings, but it feels like I can't get the same tanginess without vinegar. One day, while trying to whip up a quick vinaigrette, I thought, can we use lemon instead of vinegar? I mean, the flavor is totally different but lemon seems less harsh on my stomach. I tried squeezing some lemon juice in there, and it was decent but not exactly what I was looking for. Can we use lemon instead of vinegar in other recipes too? Like, what if I'm marinating chicken or something? Would lemon still give me that zesty kick? I just worry that my stomach is gonna freak out if I try new things. Also, I tried a citrus dressing with olive oil and lemon, and it tasted kinda weird but I don’t know if that’s just me. Any help on how we can use lemon instead of vinegar and not totally mess up my meals would be super helpful!
