The symptoms you’re describing sound like you might be dealing with a chronic condition, possibly a Bartholin’s cyst or abscess that hasn’t fully resolved. Given that you’re 14 and dealing with long-term discomfort, it’s crucial to pay close attention to your body’s signals. Persistent lumps with pus and open wounds, especially when antibiotics haven’t fully resolved the issue, may suggest the need for further investigation.

Firstly, you’ve done well seeking medical help, but given the persistence of your symptoms, it might be valuable to request a referral to a specialist, like a gynecologist. They can provide a more detailed examination and consider other diagnostics, like an ultrasound, to better understand what’s happening beneath the surface.

For now, while waiting for a specialist consultation, maintain good hygiene in the affected area. Warm sitz baths can sometimes help by encouraging drainage and providing comfort. Make sure to gently clean the area with warm water and avoid using any harsh soaps or irritants. Wear loose-fitting clothing to prevent irritation and allow the skin to breathe.

Persistent open wounds or infections that don’t heal could sometimes escalate to more serious infections or complications, so it’s important not to ignore these symptoms. In some cases, if a cyst is frequently infected and causes repeated problems, a minor surgical procedure might be necessary to remove or drain it permanently. Continue to monitor for signs of infection, such as increasing redness, swelling, pain, or fever, and seek immediate care if these occur. Your safety and comfort are important—so please seek specialist advice soon to address these concerns effectively.
