If you took an I-pill within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse and your pregnancy test on June 3 was negative, it’s possible that your period is delayed due to the hormonal effects of the emergency contraception. It’s common for periods to be delayed or earlier after taking an emergency contraceptive pill due to the high dose of hormones, which can disrupt your normal cycle temporarily. However, if your period is significantly delayed beyond a week or two from when you expected it, and given that your last menstrual period was in April, it’s important to rule out pregnancy with a more accurate method. I recommend taking another home pregnancy test to confirm results, ideally using first morning urine which can increase accuracy. If still negative, and you don’t experience your period in the next week, it would be best to consult with a healthcare professional. They might perform a blood test to conclusively rule out pregnancy and assess for any other underlying issues that could be impacting your menstrual cycle. If you experience symptoms such as severe abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, or dizziness, seek medical attention promptly, as these could indicate complications. In the meantime, try to maintain a healthy lifestyle to support regular hormonal balance – which includes a balanced diet, managing stress, and getting adequate sleep.
