can we drink neem juice at night - #24291

Aditya

I am starting to really wonder about this neem juice thing. Last week, I read somewhere that neem is super good for you and can help with a bunch of health problems. My mom has been drinking neem juice every morning, and she's always raving about its benefits. I thought, why not join her? But then I started thinking, can we drink neem juice at night also? Like, will it mess with my sleep or something? I mean, I already have trouble sleeping as it is. A few nights back, I tried drinking some neem juice before bed, hoping it might work as a natural remedy, but I felt kind of jittery after. Is that normal? Should I just stick to the mornings for neem juice? I've seen people say different things, some even swear by their nighttime neem routine, but I don't wanna end up with a bad tummy or anything. Also, are there any best practices for when to drink neem juice? Or should I be thinking about the dosage too? Like, how much is too much and can all the good stuff still work at night? I'd appreciate any insight from y’all on can we drink neem juice at night without turning into a zombie or being up all night!

Doctors' responses

Drinking neem juice does have some purported health benefits, given its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, but timing can play a role depending on how it affects you individually. Consuming neem juice at night might not be ideal if it’s causing you to feel jittery or interfere with your sleep, especially if you already experience difficulties in that area. Neem can sometimes act as a stimulant in some people or cause mild gastrointestinal issues, which might edge up if consumed right before bed.

For most folks, taking neem in the morning might be more suitable, allowing your body to utilize its beneficial compounds throughout the day. It’s best to start with smaller amounts and see how your body reacts. Around 10-20 ml is a common dose to begin with. If you’ve experienced jitteriness, it might be wise to cut down on the amount you consume near bedtime or stick to a morning routine instead. Pay attention to your body’s feedback and adjust accordingly.

Remember, too much neem can have negative effects, so moderation is key. If you’re unsure about the right dose for you, especially over the long term, it might be worth discussing with a healthcare professional. They can help ensure that adding neem won’t overwhelm your digestive system or interact with any medications you might be taking. Always integrate any new supplement or natural remedy like neem into your lifestyle thoughtfully, keeping in mind how sensitive you might be to new substances, especially when it comes to timing and quantity.
