will jaggery increase weight - #25071
I am really confused about something. I’ve been trying to eat healthier, and I read somewhere that jaggery is a healthier alternative to sugar, right? But now I’m worried that will jaggery increase weight. Like, I’ve swapped out regular sugar in my tea for jaggery and sometimes use it in my desserts. A friend told me it has more calories and could really affect my weight, ugh! I don’t eat crazy amounts of it, but sometimes I do indulge a bit. My dad thinks all the natural stuff is good for you, but I’m noticing some extra pounds recently and it’s freaking me out. I’m not sure if it’s the jaggery or just my love for snacks late at night! I also read that even natural sweeteners can cause weight gain. Like, before I made the change, I was trying to cut back on calories and now I’m back to worrying again. Will jaggery increase weight more than sugar? Or am I just stressing over it for nothing? Can I still enjoy it in moderation or should I switch back to regular sugar? Appreciate any thoughts on this!!
