I am just so confused about all this jaggery stuff. Last week, I went on this health kick after reading a bunch of articles about how jaggery is better than sugar and all, you know? I started swapping out white sugar for jaggery in my tea and even in my smoothies. But then my friend told me that jaggery can actually make you gain weight! Does jaggery make you fat? I mean, I thought it was a natural sweetener with some benefits! Plus, I've been trying to watch my calories since summer is coming, and I really don't want to end up with extra pounds. I did some research and found varying opinions; some say it’s just as caloric as sugar, others say the minerals in it balance things out. I used to love those jaggery candies as a kid and want to enjoy them again, but I’m worried! If does jaggery make you fat, is it just in large quantities, or what’s the deal? Is there a general guideline for how much is okay to have without packing on the pounds? Like, do I need to cut it entirely or can I still enjoy it in moderation? Super mixed feelings about it!
