can sugarcane juice increase weight - #24459

Muhammad

I am really confused about something and I hope you all can help me out. I’ve been trying to eat a bit healthier lately but my friends keep telling me that sugarcane juice is like a sweet poison. I mean, I thought it was healthy because it’s natural and all. But last week, I had a couple of glasses of sugarcane juice and I swear I feel like I’m gaining weight, which is super frustrating! I didn’t think sugarcane juice could actually increase weight, right? Like how can something that sounds so innocent mess with my diet? I’ve been trying to lose a few pounds and suddenly I’m doubting everything. I read somewhere that sugarcane juice has a lot of sugar and calories and wonder if that’s true. Was it a bad idea to drink it regularly? Can sugarcane juice really increase weight, or is this just a weird coincidence? I mean, can it affect my metabolism or something? Have any of you noticed a change when you started consuming sugarcane juice? I could use some guidance because I'm feeling a bit lost here.

Sugarcane juice can indeed contribute to weight gain if consumed in large amounts. Despite being a natural beverage, it is quite high in sugars and calories. Each glass can contain the equivalent of roughly 150 to 200 calories primarily from sugars. When you’re trying to lose weight, consistently consuming high-calorie drinks, even if they’re perceived as “natural,” can counteract your efforts. The body doesn’t necessarily differentiate between natural sugars and added sugars in terms of how it processes calories, so any surplus calories are likely to contribute to weight gain over time. If your goal is to lose weight, it’s important to consider not just the natural aspect of what you consume, but the overall caloric intake and balance between calories eaten and calories spent. Drinking sugarcane juice regularly might not be the best choice if you’re trying to shed some pounds. In terms of metabolism, sugarcane juice won’t directly affect how your metabolism works per se; however, the intake of extra sugar can indirectly influence weight management. It doesn’t act as a metabolic booster. If weight loss is your primary goal, it might be a good idea to monitor your portion sizes and frequency of sugarcane juice intake in the context of your entire diet. Incorporating more water, non-sweetened herbal teas, or other low-calorie beverages could be more beneficial. It’s also helpful to ensure you have a balanced diet overall and incorporate physical activity that suits your lifestyle. If you continue to feel unsure or suspect other dietary influences, it could be a good idea to consult a nutritionist or dietitian for personalized advice that aligns with your health goals.
