what does ors do - #28267
I am feeling a bit lost here and really need some clarity! About a week ago, I started feeling sick after a long trip in the heat. I thought it was just the usual exhaustion but then things got worse. I had nausea, my stomach was constantly churning, and I got hit with diarrhea outta nowhere! Super gross, I know! After talking to a friend, they mentioned that I should try something called ORS. What does ORS do exactly? Like, is it supposed to help with all this or is it just a quick fix? I've been drinking fluids but maybe I'm doing it wrong? The last thing I want is to end up back at the hospital, but at the same time, I’m not sure if ORS is the right way to go. My doctor didn’t mention it when I went for a check-up but now I’m thinking I should’ve asked! If ORS is supposed to help with the dehydration from diarrhea, what does ORS do to the body? And can it really make a difference, or is it just another one of those trendy health things that don’t work? I hope I’m not overthinking this but it’s been frustrating! Any advice would be appreciated.
