Urinating blood, known as hematuria, combined with pain in the lower abdomen, could be indicative of a urinary tract infection (UTI) or potentially a kidney stone. Given your recent onset of symptoms following frequent sexual activity, a UTI is a common possibility. UTIs can be more prevalent after intercourse due to the introduction of bacteria into the urinary tract, which may lead to the symptoms you’re experiencing, such as pain and hematuria. Starting family planning pills shouldn’t directly cause blood in the urine, but hormonal changes can occasionally influence other symptoms. It’s crucial to address this promptly; left untreated, a UTI can escalate to a kidney infection, which is more serious. Given that you’ve noted blood in your urine three times, it’s essential to seek medical attention without delay. A healthcare professional will likely perform a urinalysis to confirm a UTI and may proceed with additional tests like an ultrasound or a CT scan if they suspect kidney stones. In the interim, drinking plenty of water may help flush the urinary system and soothe discomfort, though it’s not a substitute for medical treatment. Avoid delaying medical consultation; early treatment can prevent complications and ease symptoms swiftly. Until you can see a doctor, take note of any other symptoms such as fever, nausea, or back pain, as these may provide further insight into the underlying issue.
Hello,
This is possibly Urinary tract infection that needs prompt antibiotic treatment. It is not related to birth control pills

Hi Shantel, thank you for reaching out. I understand this must be very worrying. I’ll help you understand what might be going on and what to do next. Your issues are probably due to post-coital UTI, but we have to keep in mind the other causes as well. Here is my advise -
1. Get these tests done - Urine Routine & Microscopy, Urine Culture & Sensitivity, Ultrasound of KUB and if your periods are delayed then a Urine Pregnancy Test. Review with the reports.
2. Some antibiotics or other important medications can be prescribed after the reports.
3. Till then, drink plenty of oral liquids, start Syrup Urine Alkalinizer 2tsp + 1/2 glass water thrice a day. Avoid intercourse until the infection clears. Avoid Holding urine for long. Avoid using harsh soaps or vaginal washes. Avoid tight synthetic underwear.

Please don’t take any medication without consulting the concerned physician Hopefully you recover soon Regards
Given your age (newly married), new pills, pain with urination, and visible blood: the most likely cause is a urinary tract infection or bladder irritation rather than something serious like cancer. But you cannot assume it must be ruled out properly.
This is most likely a urinary tract infection (UTI) or urethral irritation from recent sexual activity, especially since the bleeding is in urine and the pain is during urination. It needs urgent treatment because UTIs in the first few days after marriage are common and can worsen quickly if not treated. Please see a gynecologist or general physician today for a urine test and antibiotics; drink plenty of water and avoid holding urine until then.
