how to do transcendental meditation - #23048
I am really curious but also kind of confused about how to do transcendental meditation. A few weeks ago, I heard my coworker talking about it during lunch and they seemed really calm and focused, like totally different! I started searching online for guidance, and it led me down this rabbit hole of info, but I still don’t get it fully. Some people say you need a teacher, others say you can just learn it yourself, which makes me wonder if that's really possible or if I’d just mess it up? My mind is always racing, and I tried meditating for a few minutes but ended up just stressing about if I was doing it right or not! Like, what if I can't clear my thoughts? Is that a big deal? Should I find a class or just give it a shot alone? I mean, can anyone really master how to do transcendental meditation without guidance? My friend mentioned there are mantras involved but didn’t explain much. Do I need to pick my own, or do you get assigned one? I hope this doesn’t sound silly, I just really want to try it out and see if it can help with my anxiety. Any advice would really mean a lot!
