fruits for blood purification - #27864

Aarav

I am really concerned about my health right now. A few weeks ago, I started feeling a bit off. Just tired all the time, and my skin has been breaking out like crazy. I read somewhere that certain fruits can help with blood purification, and I'm wondering if that's the route I should be looking into. I've tried a couple of things like drinking water with lemon and adding some berries to my breakfast, but I don't know if they’re actually doing anything! I mean, I heard that fruits for blood purification could really make a difference. My friend swears by pomegranates and says they’re like the ultimate fruit for this. I’m curious if there are specific fruits for blood purification that I should be focusing on, or if it’s more about a balanced diet overall. Like, is there a certain amount of these fruits I need to eat to actually see any improvement? Also, I read that some fruits might work better than others, so I’m a bit lost. Do I need to combine these fruits or just eat them separately? Any tips or advice would be super appreciated because this whole thing is stressing me out a bit!

Doctors' responses

It’s understandable why you might be searching for specific fruits to “purify” your blood, especially given the symptoms you’re experiencing like fatigue and skin breakouts. However, the concept of blood purification through diet is more of a myth than a medical fact. Our bodies naturally detoxify and purify blood via organs like the liver and kidneys, and there’s no evidence-based dietary regimen proven to enhance this process. Focusing on a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables can be beneficial for overall health. Pomegranates are often touted for their antioxidant properties, which can contribute to better overall health, but they won’t specifically purify blood. Likewise, fruits like berries, citrus, and apples are nutritious and provide vitamins and fiber that support bodily functions. Adding a variety of these fruits to your diet is a good approach to support general well-being. As for the amount, incorporating a couple of servings of these fruits, alongside vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains, is generally encouraged. It’s not necessary to combine or separate them in any special way. If your symptoms persist, it might be worthwhile to see a healthcare provider to rule out other conditions like nutrient deficiencies or hormonal imbalances. Make sure to stay hydrated, manage stress, get plenty of rest, and maintain a well-rounded diet as these can greatly influence your energy levels and skin health.
