Facing severe mental health issues as depression since 3 months - #11651
Hi! I am Vaidehi, currently studying bsc computer science in third year and I am facing depression and anxiety attack issues since last 3 months, due to this I wasn't able to attend college for 1.5 months so I am seeking for a doctor who would help me to write me a note for my college and if any expenses are there I am ready to pay. I am facing these issues because of my family especially my father abusing me mentally and physically.

Hi Vaidehi,
Seems like a very sensitive issue. Dear you have to seek help from a counselor/physician/psycologist

Hello Vaidehi,
I see things are going tough for you.
You need help and in person consultation would work the best for you. Kindly Visit a Psychiatrist or a Family Medicine expert, they can help you with your issues. Doing this over call / online/ text won’t help you much. Don’t come into traps and take proper consultation as advised, you’ll be fine.
Regards,
Dr. Nirav Jain MBBS, DNB D.Fam.Med
I’m really sorry to hear what you’re going through, Vaidehi — depression, anxiety, and abuse can be overwhelming and it’s understandable that it has affected your studies. For your medical certificate/note, you will need to consult a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist, who can both help with your mental health and provide valid documentation for your college. Since you also mentioned abuse at home, please consider reaching out to a trusted friend, relative, or local support service/helpline for safety and guidance, and consult a mental health professional as soon as possible for both treatment and the note you require
Hello dear See it seems very sensitive issue with involvement of family. As it is a medico legal issues,so definitely in involvement of general physician may be there. Hello, For proper diagnosis and management, I suggest you to visit a PSYCHIATRIST and PSYCHOLOGIST. Your problem need to be addressed by detailed history, past experiences and present situation.
Get well soon.
It’s important to first address your mental health concerns. Experiencing depression and anxiety, especially due to such significant stressors at home, can significantly impact daily life and academic performance. First, seeking professional help through a mental health specialist, such as a psychologist or psychiatrist, would be beneficial in managing your symptoms effectively. They can provide psychotherapy or medication, depending on the severity and nature of your symptoms. Therapy can help you develop strategies to cope with anxiety and depression, and potentially improve your overall resilience to stress. As for getting a note for your college, this typically requires a formal diagnosis and ongoing treatment plan from a licensed healthcare professional. This is where working closely with a mental health provider is crucial—they can assess your condition, provide the necessary documentation, and may also facilitate a discussion with college administration to ensure you receive the appropriate academic accommodations or leave as needed. If you find that your safety is at risk, particularly in terms of physical abuse, it is important to contact local authorities or support services who can offer immediate assistance and protection. This kind of support can help ensure that you have a safe environment in which to focus on your recovery. If seeking immediate help is difficult due to financial or other constraints, many regions offer services at reduced cost, or educational institutions can often provide access to on-campus mental health resources or referrals to community services. Consider reaching out to these resources for further help as you navigate both your personal and academic challenges.
