how to strengthen penile muscles - #24077

Neil

I am kinda confused and a bit worried about something that's been on my mind. My partner and I were chatting the other day about intimacy, and I realized that I don't really know how to strengthen penile muscles. Like, I've read some stuff online about exercises and things, but honestly, it's all a bit overwhelming. I've tried Kegel exercises, but I'm not sure if I'm doing them right. It feels weird, and I'm not even sure I'm really feeling the muscles I'm supposed to be. I guess the other thing is, I'm not really seein much of a difference. I've also heard about some devices that supposedly help with this but don't want to waste my money on something that won't actually work. Does anyone out there know how to strengthen penile muscles in a real, effective way? Like, which exercises are best? I just want to feel more confident and comfortable in that area, you know? Also, if anyone knows how long it takes to actually notice a difference, that would really help me out too! Thanks a ton!

Strengthening the muscles that support penile function can indeed be a bit of a confusing topic. To clarify, the muscles you’re referring to are mostly part of the pelvic floor, and Kegel exercises are definitely the right track for this. These exercises can help improve erectile function by strengthening these muscles. To perform a Kegel exercise, start by identifying the right muscles. You can do this by stopping urination mid-stream; those are the muscles you want to target. Once you’ve identified them, you can do Kegels anytime. Simply tighten these muscles for about three seconds and then relax for three seconds. Aim for sets of 10-15 repetitions, at least thrice daily. Consistency is key with Kegels, and it might take several weeks to notice a difference, but persistence pays off.

As for devices, many claim to help with strengthening penile muscles, but it’s best to approach these with caution. There’s limited evidence supporting their effectiveness, and they can be costly. Usually, sticking with exercises like Kegels is safer and equally effective. It’s also important to maintain a healthy lifestyle overall—staying physically active, quitting smoking, moderating alcohol intake, and maintaining a balanced diet can have positive effects on erectile function. If you’re not seeing any results or if you’re worried you might not be doing it correctly, it might be helpful to consult with a healthcare professional specializing in men’s health or physical therapy. They can assess whether there’s something specific to your situation that needs addressing and demonstrate proper technique. Remember, it’s normal for this process to take time, and focusing on comprehensive lifestyle changes can be more beneficial than a focus solely on exercises.
