can ashwagandha cause weight gain - #25939
I am feeling really confused about something. I started taking ashwagandha a few months ago because my doctor recommended it for stress relief and sleep issues. At first, I felt great! Like a noticeable difference in my anxiety levels, but now I’m starting to notice some unexpected weight gain. I’ve gained like 8 pounds in 2 months, and I wasn’t trying to change my diet much or anything. I mean, can ashwagandha cause weight gain? I thought it was supposed to help with metabolism? I’ve been working out regularly, too, and this weight gain is just so frustrating. I did read somewhere online that with some people, ashwagandha can cause an increase in appetite, but I’m not sure if that’s true for me since I've kinda been more mindful about my eating habits. Maybe I’m just more hungry because I’m less stressed? Ughhh, it’s all so confusing! I just want to get some clarity on whether ashwagandha really could be the reason behind this weight gain or if it’s something else entirely. How do people usually respond to it in term of weight? Is there a chance that the stress relief is messing with something else? Any insights would be super helpful! Thanks!
